I attended the Brentwood Art Center where in the early 1980s, while exploring several traditional materials, I developed a technique of layering acrylic paint and medium. It is this process of multi-layering that creates the depth and textual environment into which the images can appear. The spiritual figures emerge often muted and dream-like through the layers. Francis Bacon said “the job of the artist is to deepen the mystery”.
